Install in Obsidian → Settings → Community plugins. ## Tier 1 — Install First | Plugin | Why | |---|---| | **Dataview** | Powers the dashboard (`000-shit_admin/dashboard.md`). Auto-lists tasks, recent notes, etc. | | **Templater** | Dynamic templates with `{{date}}` injection. Used by Daily Notes. | | **Daily Notes** | Built-in. Auto-creates `01-logs/daily/YYYY-MM-DD.md` on open. Pre-configured in this vault. | | **Obsidian Git** | Sync from inside Obsidian. No terminal needed for pull/push/commit. | ## Tier 2 — Quality of Life | Plugin | Why | |---|---| | **Calendar** | Click any date → jump to that daily note. Visual daily note nav. | | **Tasks** | Better than Dataview for task tracking. Supports due dates, recurring tasks, query syntax. | | **Tag Wrangler** | Rename/merge tags as vault grows. | | **Various Complements** | Auto-complete text in notes (faster writing). | | **Recent Files** | Quick jump to recent notes. | | **Quick Switcher++** | Enhanced `Ctrl+O` file switcher. | ## Tier 3 — Power User | Plugin | Why | |---|---| | **Excalidraw** | Hand-drawn diagrams and sketches. | | **Mind Map** | Auto-generate mind maps from headings. | | **Paste image rename** | Auto-rename pasted images to descriptive names. | | **Editing Toolbar** | WYSIWYG-style toolbar for tables, math, etc. | | **Outliner** | Better list/outline UX with indent guides. | | **Buttons** | Add buttons to notes that run commands. | ## Already Enabled (via `.obsidian/core-plugins.json`) - Daily Notes - Templates ## Not Needed on This Server Models on the openwebui server work via shell + git. No Obsidian plugins needed server-side. ## Sync Compatibility `.gitignore` is set up to ignore: - Plugin binaries (`.obsidian/plugins/*/main.js`) - Plugin state (`.obsidian/plugins/*/data.json`) - Theme state (`.obsidian/themes/*/data.json`) - Workspace layout (`.obsidian/workspace.json`) Tracked (syncs across machines): - Plugin manifests (`.obsidian/plugins/*/manifest.json`) - Plugin styles (`.obsidian/plugins/*/styles.css`) - Theme manifests + CSS - All `.json` config files in `.obsidian/` This means installing a new plugin on your PC will sync its config to the server (and any other machine), but the binary still needs to be installed per machine.
